Coach to take strong action against Suarez
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has reportedly been angered by Luis Suarez’s outburst, and said that he will take ‘strong, decisive action’ as there has been a ‘total disrespect of the club’ which has given Suarez ‘absolutely everything’.
According to the Mirror, the Uruguayan has accused Rodgers of ‘lying’, cynically designed to engineer a move away from the Anfield giants, although he will be forced to train on his own after his outburst provoked the wrath of his manager and the club’s owners.
Insisting that he is angry mainly because of Suarez has shown so little respect to the club and to his teammates instead of the personal attack, Rodgers said that after the player’s comments and attitude, the only way the controversial striker will play for Liverpool again is if he makes a public apology.
The report further said that in a strike to the player’s hopes, Arsenal, who have controversially offered £41 million, will be told to forget any prospect of a deal after the saga’s latest twist.
Rodgers also said that no promises had been made to the player and none have been broken, adding that even though he is disappointed at the remarks, his job is to fight and protect the club and not get over-influenced by the comments.
Stating that he will deal with any player stepping outside of those values, the Liverpool boss further said that his controversial forward has now forfeited the right to train with the first team after showing such disdain for the squad, and such an apparent indifference to the needs of his team-mates.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Gareth Bale’s potential move to Real Madrid is reportedly ‘not going down well’ in the Spanish giants’ dressing room.
According to the Mirror, Bale’s seemingly impending transfer to the Bernabeu is dependent on Spurs chairman Daniel Levy negotiating a world record deal that satisfies the north Londoners.
According to sources, Iker Casillas and Sergio Ramos, who effectively forced out coach Jose Mourinho this summer after a season of spats, are among the senior players unimpressed by president Florentino Perez's dogged pursuit of Bale.
