Delhi lad to train at UK Academy

Dilsher Singh Sandhu of Air Force Bal Bharati School, New Delhi, grabbed the prime position for a scholarship of Rs 20 lakhs to attend the Brooke House Football Academy in UK for one year.

Sandhu won the battle over 2,000 children from all across the country. The scholarship was announced by the Sport Esprit Academy.
The scholarship includes sponsorship from Brooke House Football Academy (to help gain a UK student visa), accommodation, tuition fees and football coaching fees.
Private secretary of the union sports minister, Dr Amiya Chandra handed over the winning trophy along with the scholarship certificate to the winner.
“This is an initiative which is indeed worth appreciating. It is a great opportunity to develop and popularise the sport of football in our country,” Chandra said.
