Delhi leg kicks off today
The third edition of Mahindra youth football challenge’s Delhi leg will kick-off in the capital from Friday.
The Delhi intra-school round of the tournament for boys under-14 will feature 32 teams competing for the title.
The winning team will then be up against five other ‘champion schools’ from Kolkata, Kerala, Goa, Mumbai and Bengaluru in the inter-city finals.
The tournament is expected to cast a wide net to identify junior talent, who will then get an opportunity to be groomed by the Scottish football giant, Celtic Football Club.
“Our previous two seasons have been highly successful in developing talent at the junior level and the third is now coming up to give young boys an opportunity to play in professionally managed environment,” Mahindra & Mahindra’s Mufaddal Choonia said.
The matches will be played at the Ganga International School.
CRPF Rohini, Sanskriti HS, Modern School Barakhamba Road, St. Xavier’s HS, Bal Bhavan Public School and DPS R.K. Puram are among the 32 schools invited to participate in the championships.
