DPS boys make the cut
The inter-state stage of the 3rd Mahindra Youth Football Challenge 2013, the country’s largest U-14 school football tournament, kicks off next week in Bengaluru, Prior to that, the six regional champions from across the country will undergo a four-day training session with coaches from Celtic Football Club at the football stadium in the city.
The visiting Celtic coaches are Mark Tobin (Centre of Excellence), Tom McKay (Academy of Goalkeeping), Michael McIlroy (Grassroots) and Greig Robertson (International Academy Development Officer).
The session will help players understand the game better and improve their individual games, besides ball control, skills development, physical endurance and game strategy. The teams that have qualified are Greenwood International of Bengaluru, Don Bosco High School, Mumbai, DPS Vasant Kunj from New Delhi, Ashoknagar Bidyasagar Banibhavan of Kolkata, Don Bosco School, Goa, and St Joseph Higher Secondary School from Kerala.
