Giroud likely to join Arsenal

1 Thiago Silva to PSG:

AC Milan’s Brazilian defender Thiago Silva was the subject of a rumour earlier this week about being on the verge to sign for French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

The sum was expected to be around a whopping 45 million Euros. The highest amount ever paid for a defender. The transfer will be a real statement of intent from the Qatari royal family-owned club.
However, reports from Milan have revealed that, although the club were resigned to losing their best defender, Berlusconi has had a change of heart and is now determined to hold on to Thiago.
Football Chronicle Verdict: Highly likely that this transfer will go through. Even though Burlo seems to have had a “change of heart”, it looks like nothing more than a move to milk this deal for all it’s worth.

2 Olivier Giroud and Yann M’Vila to Arsenal:

With an attitude far removed from what we’ve come to be used to from Arsenal, the club now seems to be in the mood to spend.
Arsenal have already completed their acquisition of Lukas Podolski from FC Cologne for a fee of around 11 million pounds. And now reports are linking the Montpelier hitman and Rennes midfielder with a move to The Emirates.
Everyday, reports are flowing in about Giroud being on the verge of signing for Arsenal, while on Thursday a shock rumour erupted that M’Vila’s transfer was listed on the French Stock Exchange.
Verdict: While Giroud’s transfer looks like a solid story, with the Montpellier manager confirming Arsenal’s concrete interest, M’Vila’s transfer remains, at least for now, nothing but a distant dream. Expect Giroud’s transfer to be announced within the coming weeks

3. Confirmed transfers:
n Roderigo Palacio to Inter from Genoa — £11 million.
n Riccardo Montolivo and Bakaye Traore to AC Milan — free transfer
n Juusi Jaaskelainen to West Ham from Bolton — Undisclosed.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
