High five for Amity Int’l in U-14 football

In a day that witnessed lop-sided affairs, Gurgaon’s Amity International School, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Modern School (Vasant Vihar) and Chanakyapuri’s Sanskirti School registered victories in their preliminary league matches in the girls category of the 1st inter-school U-14 football tournament in the capital on Tuesday.

Amity International rode on a hat-trick by Priyanka to blank Modern School (VV) 5-0. The other goal-scorers were Ashia and Smriti.
In another match, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya defeated Modern School, Barakhamba, 2-0. For Sardar Patel, Athi scored a brace.
Modern School, Vasant Vihar, then rebounded to beat S.V. School of Jor Bagh 1-0. Taski netted the winner.
In the last match of the girls’ category, Sanskriti School outplayed Modern, Barakhamba, 5-0. For the Chanakyapuri side, Aishya scored a hat-trick, while Sarla contributed a brace.
In boys’ action, Moti Bagh Senior Secondary School No. 1 pipped Navyug School of Peshwa Road 2 -1, thanks to Aditya’s brace.
Mohit pulled back one for Navyug School.
Later, Anglo Arbaic School thrashed Sardar Patel Vidyalaya 4-0, on the back of a hat-trick by Asif. Mukhitar was the other scorer for the winning side.
