Indian boys end 9th in Barcelona
The FCBEscola India team, represented by nine footballers from across the country, secured ninth place at the International Escola tournament in Barcelona.
Besides finishing ninth among the 28 teams in the Under-12 category, the Indian squad also emerged on top in Group B, which included FCBEscola 4, FCBEscola Kuwait, FCB ET Tenerife and FCBEscola Reus.
Four footballers from Goa, three from Delhi NCR, one from Raipur and one from Jaipur were selected to represent FCBEscola India.
The team underwent training in Gurgaon, playing seven matches of 25-minute duration each.
The International FCBEscola tournament is an annual tourney played among all Escolas worldwide, and is held at the Mini Estadi facilities next to Camp Nou.
Flan Gomes of India was adjudged the most valuable player in the Under-12 category.
