UP, Kerala hosts for next year
The stage is set for elections in the All India Football Federation with its executive committee on Tuesday clearing the decks for next month’s annual general meeting at Football House in the capital.
A retired judge of the Delhi high court is to be appointed as the returning officer though there is unlikely to be much of a challenge for the incumbents. The Indian Olympic Association, Fifa and AFC will also be asked to send observers for the polls.
It was decided the Santosh Trophy 2013 will be held in two venues in Uttar Pradesh and Kerala in February/March 2013, the dates for which will be announced shortly.
The Kerala FA was also granted permission to host the proposed Kerala Premier League provided it was along the AIFFs guidelines for state-level leagues.
In an important development, the AIFF has permitted affiliation to Sports Authority of India teams to participate in the junior and sub-junior nationals.
