Kerala keen to host U-17 World Cup

Kerala has shown keen interest in co-hosting the Fifa Under-17 World Cup in 2017, for which India have bid for. Disclosing this after a cabinet meeting here on Wednesday, chief minister Oommen Chandy told reporters that the state government will be signing an MoU with the sports ministry for the conduct of the event.
Chandy said the state had approached the centre expressing interest in hosting the quadrennial event and the state cabinet gave its approval. He said details such as development of stadia and allied infrastructure facilities required for such a major sporting event would be worked out later.
