Kozhikode draw with Malappuram

Kozhikode snatched three points from their drawn match against Malappuram in the state under-16 district match played at Sulthan Bathery in Wayanad on Friday.

Ashiq Ali sizzled with a six-wicket haul and his performance helped bowl out Malappuram for a meagre 86 in reply to Kozhikode’s first innings score of 351/7. Following on, Malappuram were 49/1 at the end of the play.

In another match played at Meenangai in Wayanad, all-round performance by Sushobh (103 & 3/46) helped Wayanad grab the first innings lead and three points in their drawn match against Kasargode.

In reply to Wayanad’s first innings score of 299 runs, Kasargod were all out for 184, thanks to brilliant bowling performance of Sushobh and Vishnu (3/34). At the end of the play, Wayanad were 109/6.
Riding on the brilliant knocks of Aditya Ravi Raj (98) and Vaishak Madukani (58), hosts Kottayam made 286 in the first innings in the south zone match against Pathanamthitta played at Mahatma Gandhi University. Pathanamt-hitta were at 47/2 at stumps.
