Muamba's father allayed defeat fears by telling him match was stopped for him
Bolton Wanderer midfielder Fabrice Muamba, who suffered a cardiac arrest during club's FA Cup fixture against Tottenham Hotspurs at White Hart Lane on Saturday, wasn't aware where he was, once he was taken to the hospital bed.
His family friend Aime Esalo revealed that when Muamba's father, Marcel asked him, whether he recognized him, Muamba said 'Yes'. The next thing Muamba asked was, 'Did we lose?'
"He was told the match was called off while the two teams were drawing 1-1. Fabrice asked why they had stopped it and his father said, 'Because of you'," the Sun quoted Esalo, as saying.
Esalo also revealed how Muamba, who continued to make encouraging progress on Tuesday, also asked for his fiance Shauna Muganda when he regained consciousness on Monday.
But the couple's son Joshua, three, was not there.
