Government Mizo High School, Mizoram, rode on Offee Lalming-ahualpuia’s hat-trick to beat the Ramakrishna Saratha Higher Secondary School of Tamil Nadu 4-1 in the semi-final of the Under-17 girls’ schools event of the 53rd Subroto Cup football tournament in the capital on Tuesday.

This was Offee’s fourth hat-trick in the team’s five matches so far.
Offee got her name recorded in the history books as the first girl to score a hat-trick in the tournament and now has 14 goals against her name.
In the final, they will take on Oriental English School of Manipur, who got the better of Government High School, Alkapuri, 2-0.
The Mizoram team opened their account in the 11th minute through Elizabeth, while Revathi equalised for the Tamil Nadu outfit seven minutes later.
Offee added to the tally in the 25th minute, and netted two more — in the 40th minute and in injury time — to complete the rout.
Speaking about her goal-scoring spree, the striker who idolises former French international Zinedine Zidane, said, “I enjoy playing and don’t think too much about anything else. May be that is the reason I score so many goals.”
In the second semi-final, the school from Alkapuri — who have been exemplary so far — failed to hold their own on the day. Oriental English School took the lead through K. Tony, and S. Ranjana added to the tally in the 39th minute.
In the league matches for the boys’ Under-17 event — that got under way on Tuesday — Little Angel Paradise English School, Manipur, beat NCC (West Bengal) 2-1, while Government Model High School of Chandigarh blanked West Bengal’s Mozepur Bharati Vidyamandir 4-0.
Government Senior Secondary School of Car Nicobar pipped Andhra Pradesh Sports School 1-0 in another match.
