Pune FC bring Ralte on board
Pune Football Club have reinforced their backline by signing central defender Zohmingliana Ralte ahead of the 2012-13 season. The Mizoram-born 22-year-old will join the club for a two-year period after representing Shillong Lajong FC for three seasons.
Ralte provides Pune FC coach Derrick Perreira an additional option in defence apart from already having experienced campaigners in Anas Edathodika, Chika Wali and Caitano Costa.
“We are happy to have Zohmingliana in our midst. His hard work caught our eye and moreover Pune FC needed a player in the position. I wish him all the best,” said Pune FC head of operations, Chirag Tanna, in a statement.
The defender flew to Pune on Saturday to join the squad. Though the youngest defender in the side, Ralte boasts of regular experience at the highest level and has featured in two I-League seasons apart from three Fed Cups. In 2009-10, Ralte was a part of the squad that played the Federation Cup final in Guwahati.
