Pune win, TFA edge Salgaocar

Defending champions Pune FC extended their good run with a third consecutive win, defeating Mohun Bagan 2-0, while Tata Football Academy edged past Salgaocar FC by an identical margin in their final round matches of the 6th I-League Under-20 tournament in Jamshedpur.

In another match on Wednesday, debutant Goan club Sesa Football Academy outplayed East Bengal 3-0.
Mohun Bagan, who beat East Bengal 2-0 in their previous encounter before drawing with Salgaocar 1-1, were off colour on the day as Pune dominated the proceedings at the JRD Tata Sports Complex in Jamshedpur.
Pune kept mounting pressure and succeeded in the 22nd minute, when midfielder F. Lalrempuia found the net. Nikhil Kadam extended the lead 10 minutes later, to make it 2-0.
Barring a couple of occasions in each half, Mohun Bagan could not threaten Pune, who now have nine points after three wins.
Pune had earlier defeated Sesa Goa 2-1 and Salgaocar 3-2, while Bagan have four points from a draw, a win and a loss.
