Rahul stars in GBSS’ victory

Subroto Cup match between GBSS School, Moti Bagh of Delhi and Don Bosco High School, Panaji, Goa,

North Eastern English School of Manipur got the better of New Sunrise Senior Secondary School, Haryana, 3-1 on the second day of the 53rd Subroto Cup football tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium in the capital on Tuesday.

The boys from Manipur dominated from the beginning and the first goal was scored by Thangam Langkhan in the 9th minute. The Haryana school were found wanting and played catch-up throughout.
In the second half, the Manipur outfit added two more goals through Mohammad Shahruck (44th) and Telheiba (49th), while Haryana’s Naresh reduced the margin in the 43rd minute.
GBSS School, Moti Bagh of Delhi routed Don Bosco High School, Panaji, Goa, by a 4-0 margin at the New Wellingdon camp grounds.Rahul scored a hat-trick. He opened the account in the 7th minute and later added two more in the 32nd and 42nd minutes. Pradip (26 minute) was the other goal-scorer.
