Sanskriti, DPS Noida enter final
Defending champions Sanskriti School, Chankyapuri, downed spirited Moti Lal Sports School of Rai 1-0 in the second semi-final of the 3rd A.R. Khan Memorial inter-school football tournament at the Dr Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi here on Thursday.
In the final, Sanskriti School will clash with Delhi Public School of Noida, who beat DPS Mathura Road 2-0 in the other last-four clash.
Sanskriti School rode on goalkeeper Zamir’s heroics, who brought about many saves.
The all-important goal was scored by Kshitiz Darwari in the 39th minute.
The Rai School attacked in the closing stages through a number of moves from the flanks, but Zamir withheld the pressure.
Earlier, Noida-based DPS blanked their Mathura Road counterparts 2-0. Kuber Bisht and Kartik scored in the 20th and 37th minutes, respectively. Kuber was named the man of the match.
The final will be played at the same venue on Friday at 4.30 pm.
