Spurs demand world-record 150 million pounds fee for Bale
Tottenham Hotspurs have slapped a record 150 million-pound price tag on Gareth Bale in a move to drive off all possible suitors for him.
Manchester City has made cautious enquiry about the wing wizard before their Premier League clash with Spurs at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, The Mirror Football reports.
If City agrees to meet the Bale’s new price tag than it would beat world-record 80 million pound deal of Cristiano Ronaldo from neighbor Manchester United to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Earlier, rumors were flowing that Bale had a buy-out clause of 50 million pounds, which City was ready to meet after various top European football clubs had shown their interest in buying him.
The Stellar Group, who represent Bale, have confirmed that there is no escape clause. Bale on previous occasions had made clear that he is in no rush to leave Tottenham Spurs while his contract will expire in 2015.
