Three-day camp for jr players
A three-day residential camp got under way on Tuesday in Shillong, Meghalaya, for aspiring footballers to provide them an opportunity to learn what it takes to represent India as a national team player.
Twenty-eight junior players within the age group of 12-15 years will get a first-hand experience of what goes on at a national camp.
This includes intensive training sessions, cool downs, in-classroom learning, videos, social time and a number of other unique football experiences.
Savio Medeira, former assistant coach of the national team will oversee the technical aspects of the camp while senior national players Gouramangi Singh, Sushil Kumar Singh and Renedy Singh will be involved in the camp sharing their knowledge and experience of the game with the program participants. On completion of the camp the participants will receive certificates signed by Panasonic and AIFF.
The participating players were nominated by the Meghalaya Football Association and two players were selected from a Panasonic Facebook campaign. The two-day technical plan will be designed by Panasonic Dream Camp technical director Savio Medeira.
Said Renedy, “This camp is a wonderful platform for the young players. I am really looking forward to the two-day long fun-filled learning experience.”
