Verheijen to conduct conditioning camp
Fitness coach Raymond Verheijen, who been a close associate of the likes of Guus Hiddink and Dick Advocaat, will be conducting a three-day conditioning course in Delhi from February 12 at the instance of the All India Football Federation.
The course is being held during the 40-day break of the I-League to ensure all club coaches stay free of any other commitments.
The course will comprise of both theoretical and practical sessions. While the practical sessions will be at the Ambedkar Stadium, the theoretical classes will be conducted at the Federation House, FICCI.
Invitations have been sent to all the I-League club coaches and fitness instructors while all the AIFF contracted head coaches and assistant coaches have been called up as well. The course is likely to be attended by 40 participants.
Verheijen, who has been part of the coaching staff in three editions of the World Cup and European Championships, has also been a member of the national teams of the Netherlands, Wales, Russia and South Korea. Besides, he has also worked with a number of European clubs like FC Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City and Zenit St. Petersburg.
