Wayne Rooney signs New Manchester United Deal
One of Manchester United's top strikers will stay on after all.
Ending days of drama, Wayne Rooney has now signed a brand new five-year deal with the English club, it has been reported.
The new contract follows club manager Sir Alex Ferguson's statement, three days ago, informing world media that Rooney had expressed intentions of quitting Manchester United.
But now, after protests by irate supporters outside Rooney's house in Prestbury, the striker has decided to stay,
"Sometimes, when you're in a club, it can be hard to realise just how big it is and it takes something like the events of the last few days to make you understand," said boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
"I think Wayne now understands what a great club Manchester United is."
