Aditi cards day’s best, wins title
Bengaluru girl Aditi Ashok overcame the handicap of three bogeys in the first five holes for a card of 75, but it was enough to clinch the Usha Army ladies and junior golf in Secunderabad on Wednesday.
Aditi — who brought in the week’s best card on the final day — totalled 231, four better than second placed Gursimar Badwal (78) and Mehar Atwal (79), both of who aggregated 235.
Aditi, who had initially found the going tough, showed great determination to return the day’s best card along with Raksha Phadke.
Over the last 13 holes, she picked two birdies against a double bogey on the par-4 13th, which was enough for her to record her first win of the season.
Amandeep Drall, who was disqualified last week, shot 77 and finished fourth at 237, while Millie Saroha with 238 was fifth.
Phadke totalled 239 to finish sixth.
Millie Saroha and Raksha topped Category A, while Aditi stayed atop overall and in Category B. Ridhima Dilawari (82) was second in Category B with a total of 222.
Tanrika Singh (96-91-87) topped Category C and Arshia Mahant was second with 276 with Harnemat Toor Singh.
In Category D, Tanishka Kumar (86-86-86) was the winner, while Vasudhara Tihara (91-91-94) was second.
