Gandas leads the pack in Category A

Manu Gandas of the DLF Golf and Country Club led the pack with two-under 67 in the Toyota IGU Eastern India Juniors Category A (U-18) at the Tollygunge Golf Club in Kolkata on Tuesday.

The 16-year-old started badly but staged a fine comeback with consecutive birdies on the seventh, eighth and ninth and then added two more to finish with a two-stroke advantage over in-form Shubhankar Sharma of Manesar and local boy Viraj Madappa.
In Category B (under-14), Piyush Sangwan of DLF enjoys a three-shot lead after finishing two-over 71 with three birdies and four bogeys.
Arjun Puri of the Delhi Golf Course began with a double bogey and bogeyed the next two holes before recovering to finish with four-over 74 for a tied second spot with Kartik Sharma of Mathura.
