Gurbani starts as favourite
Local lass Gurbani Singh — who has taken the lead from Aditi Ashok in the Order of Merit of the ladies section in the IGU circuit — will start as the firm favourite in the 3rd Usha Delhi Golf Club ladies tournament, starting in the capital on Tuesday.
The DGC Ladies Open is one of the handful of leading tournaments held apart from the normal circuit of the IGU.
In the absence of Aditi, Gurbani will lead a strong field that include the likes of Amandeep Drall, winner of Usha Eastern India Ladies, Usha Northern India champion Millie Saroha, Ridhima Dilawari and Seher Atwal among others.
Gurbani has won the Usha Southern India and Usha Western India titles, which means the winners of all the four regional majors will tee off at the Delhi Golf Club. .
The event will see a total of more than 100 golfers in action in various handicap categories.
The event also marks the 25 years of association between Usha and the Delhi Golf Club.
