Jeev, Atwal make cut at Canadian Open

Ontario (Canada), July 24: Jeev Milkha Singh slipped 16 places to tied 53rd after returning a modest even-par 70 while Arjun Atwal also just about managed to make the cut with an identical card in the second round of the RBC Canadian Open golf tournament here.

A 10th tee starter, Jeev's two birdies against an equal number of bogeys took his overall total to two-under 138.

Atwal was a stroke adrift at tied 68th after bartering two birdies for two bogeys.

Off to a subdued start, Jeev stumbled to his first bogey on the 16th to make the turn one-over.

But his front nine turned out to be slightly better as he fetched birdies on the second and sixth holes before closing it off rather disappointingly with a bogey on the ninth.
