Lahiri to lead field at PGTI championship
Fresh from his second place finish at the Selangor Masters in Malaysia, Anirban Lahiri will lead the field of top-ranked golfers at the PGTI Players Championship that gets under way at the Oxford Golf and Country Club near Pune from Tuesday.
The three-time Asian Tour champion Lahiri will be joined by the likes of Himmat Singh Rai, Digvijay Singh, Chiragh Kumar, Manav Jaini, Rashid Khan, Abhijit Singh Chadha to name a few.
Also in action will be reigning Rolex Rankings champion Shamim Khan, Mukesh Kumar, Sujjan Singh, Rahil Gangjee, Harendra Gupta, Shankar Das, Ajeetesh Sandhu, Vinod Kumar besides defending champion Om Prakash Chouhan.
Top foreigners in the field include Mithun Perera (Sri Lanka), Kunal Bhasin (Australia) and Mohammed Zamal Hossain Mollah (Bangladesh).
The event will also see local golfers vying for the `30 lakh prize. They include Rajiv Datar, Jaideep Patwardhan, Moniuddin Malak, Saurabh Bhaduri, Sameer Shaikh, Pravin Pathare and Aditya Bhandarkar.
