Quiz based on Olympics launched

Ten teams from schools across the National Capital Region will represent Delhi in an Olympic-theme based quiz competition set to begin from June 4.

The HDFC Life School Quiz 2012 aims to educate sports fans about the quadrennial mega event — which begins in July — and is being promoted by ESPN Star Sports.
The quiz will be televised weekly and witness 72 teams from across the country — selected through a comprehensive written preliminary for students from class VI to X. The winning team will earn the title of India’s Top Sports School Quiz Team. Well known commentator and host Alan Wilkins will host the show.
The quiz show will feature a special section where famous current and past Indian Olympians will ask questions to the contestants. Kolkata, with eight teams, follows Delhi in sending maximum teams for the event.
