Sharma in command after Rd 3
Karnal’s Maniram Sharma returned a three-under 69 to climb to the top of the leaderboard in round three of the PGTI Players Championship at the Classic Golf Resort in Mewat, Haryana.
Maniram’s total now stands at eight-under 208. Ranjit Singh of Chandigarh is one stroke behind the leader.
Sharma (70-69-69), who was a stroke off the lead at tied fourth after round two, began well on the day with a birdie on the second but stumbled with a bogey on the third where he missed a three-footer.
But the 30-year-old kept himself in the game with a magnificent tee shot on the fifth that set up a three-foot birdie putt.
A 25-foot birdie putt on the sixth took Sharma’s score to two-under for the day.
