Smriti moves atop Order of Merit
Smriti Mehra has moved to the top of the Hero-WGAI Order of Merit for the first time this season following her win of in Srinagar earlier this week. The 40-year-old now has Rs 4,89,000 from four events of which she has won two and finished third and fourth in the other two.
Vani Kapoor, who recently turned pro, has also crossed the Rs 4 lakh mark and is at Rs 4,11,000. The Delhi girl was leading the list after the third leg, which she won in Bengaluru. Another Delhi girl, Nalini Singh Siwach, still in search for her first win this season, is third with Rs 3,66,750.
Sharmila Nicollet, who has played only two events is fourth with Rs 3,52,500. Sharmila won the opening event of the season, finished second in the next but skipped the next two as she travelled to Europe for the Ladies European Tour.
The Hero-WGAI 2012 tour will have 12 events this season with Rs 70 lakhs in total prize money. The fifth leg will be held from September 19 at the DLF Golf and Country Club.
