Golfer Gaganjeet Bhullar capped off a successful 2012 with wins at Macau and the Chinese Taipei, but rubbing shoulders with Tiger Woods at the CIMB Classic stands out for the Kapurthala lad.

Bhullar clinched the Yeangder Tournament Players Championship and the Macau Open in 2012, and also finished among the top-10 at the CIMB Classic in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
“I was tied with Tiger after the third round and finally settled for the 10th position, it was pretty good,” Bhullar was quoted as saying.
“That was, you can say, the most satisfying moment of my career. Of course the win at Macau was also great. But considering the field at the CIMB, I was very happy with my performance there,” added Bhullar, who is currently participating in the inaugural Golf Premier League at the Aamby Valley Course, near Pune. He is representing Witalsee Punjab Lancers at the IPL-styled event.
Bhullar’s 10th-place finish at the $6.1 million CIMB tournament followed his triumphs at Macau and the Chinese Taipei, ending his 32-month winless streak. With the two Asian Tour wins and breaking into the top-100 of world rankings, 2012 can be considered as one of the best years for the 24-year old.
He also has been on an endorsement signing spree ever since his elevation in the rankings, though Bhullar felt it was nothing new.
“I have been doing it since 2009 I think. I have been a part of brands like Mercedes and Oakleys,” said the golfer, who is currently ranked 97th.
One of the most expensive Indian players at the GPL auction, Bhullar appreciated the Aamby Valley course, which is hosting the eight-team franchise-based event.
“The course is lovely, it is as good as the ones we get on the Asian tours,” he said.
“I have won here once on the PGTI and hold the course record of eight-under. Had it been an 18-hole tournament, I would have broken my record,” he said.
