Tvesa in lead on Day One
Teenager Tvesa Malik turned in a card of one-over 73 to grab the lead on the opening day of the Usha Delhi Golf Club Ladies Open in the capital on Tuesday.
Tvesa was one stroke ahead of Ridhima Dilawari (74) and three ahead of Usha Eastern India Ladies champion, Amandeep Drall (76), who was tied with Gauri Monga (76) in the third spot.
Millie Saroha, the Usha Northern India Ladies winner, shot 78 and was lying fifth.
The same set of golfers also led the leaderboard at the Usha Golf Trophy, which was being played simultaneously for golfers with a handicap of 14 and below.
Tvesa found three birdies against four bogeys in her card, while Ridhima had two birdies and four bogeys.
The Usha DGC Ladies Open is one of the handful of leading tournaments held apart from the normal circuit of the Indian Golf Union.
The event — which marks 25 years of association between Usha and Delhi Golf Club — features more than 100 golfers in action in various handicap categories.
