Woods says all the best to ex-wife

Two days after their divorce, world's top golfer Tiger Woods on Thursday admitted that his own misdeeds and mistakes doomed his marriage and wished his former wife Elin Nordegren "the best in everything."

"I wish her the best in everything," Woods told reporters in Paramus in New Jersey two days after their divorce and a day before the start of the Barclays Tournament.
Woods spoke about the divorce brought about by his multiple affairs in a scandal disclosed following a car crash in November 2009.

"You know, it's a sad time in our lives. And we're looking forward in our lives and how we can help our kids the best way we possibly can. And that's the most important thing," he said.

"As far as my game and practicing, that's been secondary," he said. "We're trying to get our kids situation to our new living conditions and how that's going to be. That's where our focus is going to be right now," Woods said.

The embattled couple was present at Bay County Circuit Court in Panama City, Florida for the execution of their divorce agreement on Monday. Nordegren has also broken her nine-month silence about the aftermath of scandal involving her husband that played out in the media for months.

"I have been through the stages of disbelief and shock, to anger and ultimately grief over the loss of the family I so badly wanted for my children," she told People magazine in an interview.

When asked if he felt relief, Woods noted that it wasn't the right way to put, and that he felt sadness.

"I don't think that's the word. I think it's just more sadness," he said. "You don't ever go into a marriage looking to get divorced. That's the thing. That's why it is sad." The downward spiral for the couple began when the golfer's extramarital affairs with dozens of women became public in 2009.

Shocking details of his private life received worldwide attention with several of the golfer's mistresses coming forward to provide information about his infidelity.

The cover-up was busted after his wife found out about his extramarital affair with Rachel Uchitel, a New York party planner, which led to an argument and accident on November 27 when Woods crashed his SUV outside his Florida mansion sustaining minor injuries.

The sports star has apologised for his behaviour and spent 45 days in rehab for sex-addiction. After the sex scandal broke, Woods took a five month break and then entered the Masters in April.

When asked if he had any regrets, Woods said, "My actions certainly led us to this decision…and I've certainly made a lot of errors in my life. That's something I'm going to have to live with."

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
