Yashas holds on to lead
Mysore-based teenager Yashas Chandra continued to lead the field at the Shivalik course in Chandimandir, carding 77 on the second day of the Usha-IGU Shivalik junior golf championship.
His lead though, was cut from two to one stroke after the second day’s play.
Leading the chasing pack was Veer Ahlawat (77, 71) of the Army Golf Course, Delhi, in the second place. Local golfer Hemant Kumar Yadav (72, 76), Roshan Raj (72, 76) and Piyush Sangwan (75, 73) from Category B were further behind at four-over par 148. The day’s best score of 71 came from Ahlawat and Ravi Kumar.
In the absence of Prakhar Asawa, the leader is Piyush in Category B at four over par 148. In tied second position at 13-over par 157 were Karandeep Kochar, Arjun Prasad, Tanvir Kahlon and Ritwik Jain.
