Big ‘butt’ sexy

What comes to mind when someone says Jennifer Lopez? Of course — her fabulous butt! When she insured her bottom, the news created waves! So much so that stars like John Abraham followed suit…

With Munni Malaika Arora Khan showing off her curve-licious body, people don’t want to be left behind. One can now just inject their own ‘enriched’ body fat to enhance their body parts instead of going under the knife or getting silicon implants. Your own body fat will now give you that much-coveted bottom.
Dr N.S. Venkatesh, a professor at Ramaiah College and a plastic surgeon with the Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Clinic, feels that this procedure will become popular once it is standardised. “This treatment is perfect for those who are freaked out by the thought of introducing foreign material into the body. Because we are using the person’s own fat for the procedure, the body will accept it better.”
While using the person’s own fat feels reassuring, what if the procedure leads to an unequal bottom? Dr Lakshmi Saleem, a consultant plastic surgeon, clears the air. “The procedure is not risky compared to inserting an implant. If we insert 100 cc of fat, only 50 cc will be absorbed. After a few sittings, we can always insert more fat.”
Dr Venkatesh goes on to explain why this procedure might take more time than the usual implants. “This procedure is apt for people who have six weeks on their hands and are willing to make regular trips to the clinic. We are now inserting stem cell enriched fat into the target area. The same technique is now being used for breast enhancements too.” Dr Lakshmi seconds this, adding, “There is a chance that inserting anything foreign might be rejected by the body. Using fat from the person’s body gives better results and overcomes this issue.”
Though the thought of investing several weeks for the treatment might put off a few people, Dr Lakshmi says people will still opt for this because it is safe. “The execution might be difficult and it will require several sittings. But because there are fewer risks associated with this procedure, more and more people will be willing to undergo this treatment.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
