Watch what you wear woman
The Swiss banking giant UBS has issued a strict dress code for its employees. The UBS prescribed a head-to-toe company dress code including hairstyles, what cut of skirt and which type of socks to wear and all its employees adhered to the code without any protest. Compare this to the hue and cry generated in India when colleges prescribe dress codes to students.
Yes, India is a free country and we wear anything in the name of being fashion-conscious and being part of the hip crowd however, there are a few questions that arise in my mind with regard to the dress code. Several bizarre outfits are being worn in the name of fashion. In fact, several people don’t realise that there is a connection between what you wear and sex.
Dressing in a manner that screams for attention may make a woman feel good about herself but it definitely gives out some “come hither” wrong signals to a man. Hence, the possibility of being mistaken for an “easy lay” is rather high. Of course, this does not justify rape or molestation but the issue of rape is irrelevant here as it is a deviant, different form of behaviour where sex is used as a tool to subjugate the woman. Dress appropriately for the right kind of sexual attention. What you wear says a lot so let your attire make people look up to you and not down at you.
