FIH course for coaches
Ahead of the Hero Hockey World League Round 2 tournament here, the FIH and Hockey India are holding a joint high performance coaching course that got under way on Saturday.
The course is the second part of a programme for those aspiring to be high performance coaches. It aims to identify coaches from all areas of India and provide them with advanced tools.
Thirty participants from across India are in attendance, the first such course haing been held in Lucknow last September.
Tayyab Ikram, FIH master coach, and Siegfried Aikman, FIH Grade 1 coach, are conducting the course, which will cover a variety of relevant topics for the participants.
Besides technical and tactical topics and advanced methods of play, the trainers will also touch on basic concepts of high performance coaching, different aspect of advanced hockey and its demand from elite athletes, how high performance
structure can guide the development process in a country and more specifically in coaching, etc.
