HI elections to be held next month
Having missed the date several times in the past, Hockey India on Monday announced its much-awaited elections next month, while ratifying the affiliations of 33 units.
Hockey India president Vidya Stokes held a special general council meeting here on the day, which was also attended by sports ministry observer S.P.S. Tomar, and federation secretary Narinder Batra.
“The house unanimously decided to conduct the elections for the office-bearers in July,” Batra said in a statement after the meeting.
According to him, 70 representatives of the 29 member units attended Monday’s meeting in which the house unanimously ratified the affiliation granted to 25 states, including Punjab, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and Goa.
Affiliation was also ratified for the four institutional boards — Railways, Services, Universities and Air India.
