Indian team rocked by sex scandal
Bengaluru, July 20: With controversies rocking Indian hockey by the day, this was one embarrassment the sports could have surely done without. The latest scandal to hit hockey in the country involves the women’s team videographer Basavraj.
The Sports Authority of India, South Centre employee has allegedly been found to be involved in a sex scandal during the team’s recent tour of China.
According to reports, Basavraj was found indulging in sex in a hotel room.
According to sources, the players, who too have issues with Basavraj, have demanded a probe into the issue.
Meanwhile Hockey India has constituted a four-member committee headed by former Indian skipper Ajit Pal Singh to look into the issue. The committee is expected to sit for meeting on Wednesday.
Meanwhile the Indian women’s team seems to have gone into hiding after the scandal broke out. Most of the team members including chief coach M.K Kaushik and Basavraj himself have switched off their mobile phones.
