Maria Niketan advance despite draw

It was a crunch game for both the teams, but both had different goals. While Maria Niketan High School only required a draw to advance to the knockout stage, Zilla Panchayat High School, Bellary had to win the match. But finally, it was heart break for the Bellary lads as they were held to a goalless draw. With the result, Maria Niketan ended second in Group B with a better goal difference.

In another Group B match, Zilla Panchayat High School topped the group with a 7-0 win over The Best High School. Bhagesh (15th and 23rd), Sunil (33rd and 40th), Veeresh (19th), Basavaraj (22nd) and Dayasagra scored the goals for the winners.

In a Group D encounter, Bishop Cotton had it easy against JIRS as they scored a 6-0 win. With the victory, Cotton’s entered the next stage after finishing second in the group. Zeben Perriera struck three goals in the 11th, 34th and 45th minutes for Cotton’s.
Malem K, opened the tally in the first minute and later scored his team’s final goal in the 59th minute. Ameen Hameed scored the other goal.
