Raj School hammer HSS Koickal
On yet another day of one-sided matches, Government Raj Senior Secondary School of Sangrur thrashed Government H.S.S. Koickal of Kollam, Kerala, 7-1 in a Pool E league match of the 41st Nehru junior (Under-17) boys hockey tournament at the Shivaji Stadium in the capital on Thursday.
Amandeep Singh shone with a hat-trick for the winners.
Guru Gobind Singh Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Mohali, registered the biggest win of the day, handing a 16-0 hammering to Dayawati Modi Academy of Modipur, Uttar Pradesh, in a Pool C match.
Sahil Dabas struck four goals, while Harkirat Singh and Varinder Singh contributed a hat-trick each. Varinder Singh (two), Harpreet Singh (two), Harjot Singh were the other goal-scorers, besides an own goal.
In a Pool F encounter, Directorate General, NCC B, rode on a hat-trick from Sushil Kachhap to blank S.M. Lohia Junior College of Kohlapur 4-0, while V.S. Agri Senior Secondary School of Delhi defeated Gujarat-based Baroda High School 7-0 in Pool D.
