Hermione voted best role model
The character named Hermione Granger in the movie Harry Potter has reportedly topped the list of the best big-screen role models in a poll of young film fans.
According to Sam Wainstein from children’s charity Filmclub, Granger’s role of a brainy student played by the 22-year-old actress Emma Watson, pulled 19 percent of the votes in the poll and became the best big-screen role model, the Daily Star reported.
Whereas, Charlie Bucket, who wins a golden ticket to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, was next with 16 percent votes, followed by another Roald Dahl creation, Matilda Wormwood , who picked up 15 percent votes. Wainstein, who carried out the poll, asserted that films can have a powerful influence on the way children behave and that he hopes their list will help parents when it comes to choosing films.
