Hurley joins Gossip Girls cast

Elizabeth Hurley has landed a role in Gossip Girl. The British actress, who recently guest-starred as villainous Veronica Cale in the NBC pilot of Wonder Woman, is to appear in the US show’s upcoming fifth season as “sexy media mogul” Diana Payne. However, her feisty alter-ego’s arrival could be set to change the lives of all the characters in the teen drama.

Gossip Girl executive producers Stephanie Savage and Joshua Safran explained, “Diana is a sexy, smart, self-made media mogul and all-around force to be reckoned with. Diana’s entrance on the Upper East Side will change the lives of all our characters, including, and especially Gossip Girl herself.” Meanwhile, the pair praised the 46-year-old actress’ sense of “humor and beauty”, which fit perfectly with the ethos of Gossip Girl. They added to TVLine, “Elizabeth’s sense of humour, intelligence and beauty fit the ‘GG’ world perfectly. We feel very fortunate to have her.”
