Katy’s dream comes true
Katy Perry had a “dream come true” when she hosted Saturday Night Live. The Firework singer crowned her year, which saw the brunette beauty equal Michael Jackson’s record of having five number one singles from one album in the US, by presenting the long-running sketch show for the first time, describing it as the “cherry on top” for her 2011.
She told MTV News, “It’s a cherry on top. Most definitely, you hear with different monologues of different hosts every week, it sounds a bit repetitive and stereotypical about how this is their dream come true to host SNL, but it really is each and every one of our dream come true to host SNL, to just have fun, goof off, try and make some people laugh.”
Katy admires women who appear on Saturday Night Live and finds them truly inspiring. She added, “I like females that are OK with making fun of themselves, and they don’t always have to have the best lighting or they can play all kinds of different characters.”
During her Saturday Night Live episode, the 27-year-old beauty portrayed Pippa Middleton, the younger sister of Britain’s Duchess Catherine, in a skit that poked fun at the royal family.
The sketch saw Catherine, who was played by Abby Elliott, grilled by Queen Elizabeth eight months after the royal wedding because she has not fallen pregnant. The fake monarch, who was played by Fred Armison, said, “When you gonna pump out a baby and give us an heir to the bleeding throne?”
