Kylie longed to perform again

The 42-year-old singer Kylie Minogue, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2005, admits taking to the stage for the first time after being given the all-clear was a physical and emotional challenge.

She explained, “There was the physical side of knowing your body’s been through a lot and dealing with those changes, but it was a real emotional challenge too. Performing again was what I had really longed for but I could definitely sense people were watching thinking, ‘Is she OK? Is she going to make it?’ I just had to dig my heels in, I’ve got a damn strong constitution. I’m like a little terrier, I will do it.”
The All the Lovers hitmaker also admitted that, despite getting older, she hasn’t curbed her partying and often draws attention to herself with her drunken antics. She added, “I am always the one dancing on the table. I love having that first pink champagne and forgetting about the day, but before I know it. I’m getting merrier and merrier and dancing on any structure in sight and that’s when I have to call it a night.”
