Miranda’s son is fond of Buddhist chants
Miranda Kerr’s son is obsessed with chanting. The 28-year-old model, who has 10-month-old son Flynn with her Three Musketeers star husband Orlando Bloom, revealed she and her spouse are members of Soka Gakkai International which follows the teachings of Nichiren Daishonin, a Buddhist monk who lived in 13th century Japan and the tot has developed a love of chanting from them.
She told Hollybaby.com, “The whole time I was pregnant, I was chanting to my son and when I was giving birth, Orlando was chanting. So that was the first thing he heard when he came out into the world, Nam-Myo-Renge-Kyo. It’s pronounced Nam-Me-oh-ho-Ren-gay-Key-oh. And now we chant as a family. Flynn sits there and he has his little beads. He loves it.”
Miranda has previously revealed Flynn is also a lover of hip-hop music, because she used to dance to it when she was pregnant with him. She said, “He loves hip hop. When I had him in my stomach, I’d play music and sometimes I’d put on hip hop and dance around. So now I put hip hop on and he shakes his head and gets into it.”
