Robin happy to act in sequels
Robin Wright thinks it is a “gift” to work on a movie franchise. The 45-year-old actress stars alongside Daniel Craig and Noomi Rapace in the English language remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which has two planned sequels, and she admits in the current economic climate she is more than happy to work on a series of films.
She said, “I love that security. With the economy and the recession, everyone’s feeling it, so it’s absolutely a gift. I think it would feel very awkward and there would probably be some resentment if someone else played Erika in the next two films. She’s my character now.”
However, Robin, admits the original books by Stieg Larsson would not be the kind of material she would usually pick up. She told Britain’s Elle magazine, “Now that my kids are out of the house I’m finally able to get to the classics I’ve never read. Emily Bronte, Dylan Thomas, Joseph Heller’s Catch 22. It’s endless.”
