10 pharma firms blacklisted
The AP Medical Services Infrastructure Development Corporation (APMSIDC) has blacklisted certain products from 10 pharmaceutical companies for this month and has banned some other products for a few years for being undependable suppliers. Two pharmaceutical companies, Hindustan Latex Life Care Limited and AP-based Mino Pharma, were blacklisted for supplying substandard antibiotics, ciprofloxacin, which failed the quality control test.
APMSIDC managing director J. Syamala Rao said, “Ten companies took purchase order but didn’t supply the ordered quantity, and couldn’t keep to the deadline as well. Showcause notices were issued to these companies. Two (other) companies had supplied substandard drugs and the products (Ciprofloxacin), which failed the quality control test, have been banned as well.” He said APMSIDC would soon issue showcause notices to three other companies for not supplying standard drugs. “Companies whose products are rejected thrice by us would be permanently banned. They cannot participate in the tender process (in future),” he added.
The suppliers deemed “undependable” are Dennis Chemicals Ltd, Fair Deal Enterprises, HLL Life Care science, Mino Pharma Labs Pvt. Ltd, Modern Laboratories, Neon Laboratories, Sri Rajendra Pharma, Sterined Medical Services, Rajasthan Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Bharath Serums and Vaccine.
