The government on Mo-nday transferred ACB director B. Shivadhar Reddy and posted him as Visakhapatnam commissioner of police, in a massive exercise that covered 45 police officers. The transfers covered DCPs in the city, and SPs in the districts. Mr Shivadhar Reddy’s place will be taken by Mr Kumar Vishwajeet.

ACB additional DG D. Boobathi Babu, who unearthed the liquor scam, was posted as Additional DG, Rail-way, a loopline posting.

The government also moved out CID additional DG S.V. Ramana Murthy as DG, fire services, and brought in Mr T. Krishna Prasad, additional DG (provisions and logistics), in his place. Mr Prasad was noticed for commendable work he put in during the recent Cop)-11 in the city.

IPS officials who were in the loopline and did anti-naxal intelligence work like Mr Sivadhar Reddy were given plum postings.

City gets new top cops

West Zone DCP Step-hen Ravindra was transferred to the Greyhounds as group commander on his request on Monday.

His place will be taken by G. Sudheer Babu. Mr Gangadhar, who is set to get a promotion as DIG, was shifted out as East Zone DCP.

Hyderabad additional commissioner (crimes) Mohammed Ahsan Reza was posted as director of Police Communications, and his place taken by Sandeep Shandilya.

Vizag police commissioner J. Purnachan-dar Rao was posted as IG (law and order).
T.P. Das, director-general, Prisons, posted as home department principal secretary. He will be replaced by T. Krishna Raju, controller of legal metrology.

Mr Umesh Kumar was posted as chairman of the Godavari Valley Development Authority, which is also a loopline post

The range IGs of North Zone (Warangal) and Mr Harish Kumar Gupta, South Coastal (Guntur), were shifted out. Mr Gupta was in the thick of a controversy recently.
