6 booked for trafficking Hyderabad woman
Six people, including those of Indian origin, have been charged by the Met police for alleged trafficking of an Indian woman from Hyderabad.
The six suspects face a series of serious allegations, including trafficking, sexual assault and making threats to kill the 37-year-old victim.
Shashi Kala Obhrai, 53, and Balram Kumar Obhrai, 58, have been charged with trafficking the woman into and within the UK for exploitation; and for threatening to kill the victim.
Enkarta Balapovi, 53, who is a butcher in north London, has been charged with trafficking within the UK and five counts of rape. His partner, Shanaz Begum, a shop worker, has been accused of two counts of trafficking.
Aleemuddin Mohammed, 43, and Shamina Yousuf, 42, have also been charged with trafficking.
All six accused are due to appear at a court in Westminster for bail on June 7.
