The victim, Mohammed Mansoor, a resident of Khazipura, was shot near Vattepally at Bibi-ka-Chashma road in the day light while travelling on his motorbike, and is now undergoing treatment at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences.
Police seized two country-made single shot firearms, five live cartridges of 8 mm, a dagger, two motorcycles, and six cellphones. According to the police, the accused are Mohammed Afroz, 24, an autorickshaw driver from Hamalwadi, Gazibanda, Mohammed Aleem, 26, a worker from Fathima nagar, Habeeb Ismail Sankari, 22, and his mother Abeda Begam, 55, from Kamatipura, Mohammed Naseeruddin, 25, a mechanic from Mishriganj, and Mohammed Akbar, 25, a bag maker from Kishan bag. Another accused Mohammed, an autorickshaw driver from Jhirra, is absconding.
Police said the victim, Mansoor, was implicated in the murder of accused Habeeb Ismail’s brother late Aboobaker last year. “He and his mother Abeda Begam along with Aboobaker’s childhood friend Aleem conspired to kill Mansoor,” Falaknuma inspector M. Hussaini Naidu said. The weapons were bought from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, by the absconding accused Mohammed.
