ACB raids MLA residence, seizes papers
ACB officials on Wednesday conducted simultaneous raids on various premises belonging to Elamanchali MLA U.V. Ramanamurthy Raju, alias Kanna Babu, who was slapped with a DA case last month.
The ACB had, upon a direction from the Special Court, registered a DA case on September 24 against the MLA, his wife, son and daughter.
“We found many incriminating documents pertaining to his assets. They would be sent to our head office for verification,” said ACB DSP N. Venkateswara Rao.
Additional teams from Vizianagaram and Vijayawada were brought in to conduct these raids.
The Special Court for ACB cases was hearing a petition filed by Adari Adimurthy, a resident of the MLA’s home constituency alleging that the assets of the MLA, who had served two terms, increased manifold within a span of five to six years.
